May Showroom Feature
Our featured room this month was created by our talented designer, Samiksha Verma, and showcases the Orsted bed and Remix bedroom collection.
The Orsted bed in the showroom has a camel-colored leather and chrome-plated legs, giving it a masculine appearance that Samiksha aimed to give a new life to. One of the most important things about this room transformation was switching up the layout. “We’ve had the bed in the same spot for a while and by rotating it against the window, it redirects the movement in the room and changes how the lighting looks on the other furniture pieces,” Samiksha says.
Samiksha wanted to style the bed differently than how it has been in the past. The Orsted has a low profile and sleek look that has various styling possibilities so it can easily be made to fit a neutral or modern room, “but I wanted to demonstrate that this bed can be a beautiful addition to a feminine and glamorous room.”
Samiksha drew inspiration from energetic and warm tones of metals, woods, textiles, and a bright pop of plum adding some drama and sophistication to the room.
It was important to contrast the strong look of the tan leather with some softer textiles like the bedding and feminine artwork. The purple and brown tones complement one another and the addition of the purple rug further brings the room together. The Andretta wall art had pops of orange and yellow that match the Mayflower accent table and the bedding toss cushions.
The gold accents and plush fabrics “add elegance and a touch of femininity to the room” Samiksha says. The Everest accent chair has the medium-tone wood that goes with the Remix dresser and nightstands but also introduce an ivory boucle that “breaks the monotony of the darker colors.”
